It’s now officially winter in Ibiza. The nights have started to draw in and around 1.5 million tourists have the left the Island; things have started to slow down a little. For the ‘all-year-rounders’ still left here the novelty of quiet nights in and afternoon walks on the beaches is starting to wear thin and thoughts are once again turning to the dance floor. Luckily fate has conveniently placed Halloween a mere month after the heady nights and days of the summer closing parties. It is this convenience of timing and the island’s debauched tendencies that make Halloween in Ibiza one of the biggest nights of the year. There are far too many partying options to offer a complete rundown but here we’ve picked two events we think offer the most pump for your pumpkin.
Our friends over at Hostal Salinas have hosted some of the most memorable winter nights in Ibiza. Last year’s Halloween event was talked about for months after and this year’s party is shaping up to be equally as terrifying. Devised and delivered by Ryan O’Gorman, the man behind Ibiza’s truly underground parties, this party starts way past the witching hour at 03:00 thursday night / friday morning with a whole host of local DJs playing haunted house until an undisclosed time. We Love Space friends and residents David Phillips, Jaime Fiorito, Jon Woodall, Daisy Heartbreaker, Bones and Big Hell all take to the decks along with island favourites DJ Kocis, Robert Cashin, The Wizard Of Odd, Andy Baxter, Karlos Sense and a very special guest completing the bill. Halloween 13, things that go bump in the night ;)
Over in the hills behind San Antonio the Ibiza Rocks crew have possessed Pikes once again and transformed it into the Haunted Hotel. The venue’s already warren-like layout and curiosity shop decor lend themselves perfectly to the scariest of soirees. Known for their attention to details the Vamp party offers a mixed cauldron of morbid mischief. There’s an early doors BBQ from 9pm at €20 a head (how many heads do you think you could eat?), a trick or treat on arrival, music from Ibiza’s freakiest, a scareoke competition in the Bloody Bathtub and cult movies showing all night long. What more could you wish for?
